The Regional Assistant Controller Americas (AMS) at Flextrade Systems Inc plays a key role in supporting the regional accounting function and safeguarding the financial health of the U.S. organization. This role reports to the Global Controller and will partner with the broader Finance team to help ensure accurate reporting, strong internal controls, timely close, and compliance across AMS entities. Key responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:
Financial Management:
Support day-to-day accounting operations for Flextrade Systems Inc, Flextrade LLC, Flextrade Advanced Technologies, and Flextrade Export, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities; help ensure appropriate controls and timely processing of transactions
Supervise (2) Accountants
Support and help maintain revenue recognition processes in accordance with ASC 606, including identification of performance obligations, transaction price allocation, timing of revenue, and related disclosures; partner with Sales/Legal/Operations and assist with audit requests.
Support and help maintain Lease Accounting standards in accordance with ASC 842
Assist in managing the monthly/annual financial close process for all AMS entities, including preparing close schedules, coordinating inputs, and driving timely completion
Ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled timely and accurately; review supporting documentation and follow up on reconciling items.
Perform monthly variance analysis and support income statement review to help ensure completeness and accuracy
Prepare and analyze monthly/annual financial statements and supporting schedules for AMS entities
Support preparation of the AMS monthly/quarterly/year-end closing package for review by Global Controller & SVP, Finance & Accounting; help compile analysis and respond to follow-up questions.
Participate in the creation, maintenance, and management of AMS budgets and forecasts, providing inputs, analysis, and variance commentary
Support compliance with financial regulations and internal standards; help document and maintain accounting policies and procedures
Support FINRA/SEC compliance reporting and filings, including gathering data, preparing schedules, and coordinating reviews with internal stakeholders and external advisors as needed
Support income and sales tax processes for applicable AMS entities by coordinating inputs, reviewing calculations prepared internally/externally, and helping ensure timely payments and filings
2. Reporting:
Produce and/or support production of monthly financial reports for the AMS region, including variance analysis and management reporting
Coordinate external audit activities for AMS entities, including preparation of support, responding to PBC requests, and facilitating communication, partner with the Global Controller and auditors throughout the process
Provide financial insights and recommendations to management, elevating risks and opportunities and proposing process improvements
3. Internal Controls:
Assist in developing, documenting, and maintaining internal controls to safeguard company assets and support accurate financial reporting
Help implement and monitor accounting policies and procedures; identify control gaps and recommend remediation
4. Strategic Planning:
Assist in the development of regional financial strategies and initiatives that improve reporting quality, efficiency, and scalability
Support long-term planning and risk management by monitoring key risks, assisting with mitigation plans, and providing analysis to leadership
5. Team Leadership and Flexibility:
Supervise and mentor members of the accounting team; help set priorities, review work as appropriate, and ensure timely completion of deliverables
Work with Global finance and accounting teams daily
Participate in recruiting, onboarding, training, and development of accounting staff in partnership with the Global Controller and HR
Job requirements
Skills and Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred but not mandatory
Experience:
5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, including ownership of close processes and experience leading or supervising workstreams and teams
Public accounting and/or public company experience preferred
Experience with and/or strong knowledge of FINRA and SEC rules, regulations including the calculation of Net Capitalization Requirements as well as quarterly/annual filings strongly preferred
Accounting and financial management for Fintech/SaaS companies preferred
Systems/Applications Skills:
Microsoft Office Suite with key emphasis on Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook. Experience with Oracle NetSuite, Coupa, Corpay, and Commercial Bank Software/Applications preferred.
