JOB SUMMARY:
Our FIX team is looking for a motivated FIX Analyst, who will be involved with the testing and setting up of FIX connectivity.
The FIX Analyst is responsible for all technical aspects of the client connectivity process and communicating with our broker/vendor/exchange partners. The candidate will be exposed to all asset classes (Equities, Futures and Options, Fixed Income and FX) and all types of flow (Cash, DMA, Algos, Portfolio Trading, IOIs …).
This includes:
· Configuring new FIX connections and troubleshooting tasks related to those connections.
· Maintaining and monitoring production service bureau connections on Flextrade FIX network.
· Managing communication chain with brokers and staying on top of requests coming into the team’s queue
· Handling migration and/or implementation projects surrounding FIX hubs
· Be able to easily maneuver within a Unix / Linux environment and become familiarized with Flextrade system’s file structure
· Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at the same time is crucial for this role.
Job requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related
· In depth knowledge of the FIX (Financial Information eXchange) protocol required.
(FIX 4.0. 4.2 and 4.4)
· A sound technical background in Linux / Unix operating systems
Knowledge of trading products in the Equities, FX, Futures and Options markets
Working knowledge of Shell, Perl, XML and C++ scripting
Good understanding of network connection types and TCP/IP
Able to independently analyze, research, and solve complex technical problems
· Ability to assimilate and apply new technologies through independent research
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must, with a demonstrated ability to communicate with a variety of people to explain technical situations and present information
· Minimum of two years securities industry knowledge
· Programming experience is a plus but not essential
