About You

The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting in the monthly close process for APAC region (Australia/HK/India and Singapore), technical accounting research/documentation and the preparation of internal and external financial reporting.

Job requirements

  • Perform accounting close processes; independently prepare comprehensive balance sheet account reconciliations and journal entries
  • Perform analytics over financial results to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial statements
  • Investigate reporting discrepancies and communicate issues as they occur in a timely manner
  • Assist team in annual audit and tax reporting.
  • Continuously seek ways to optimize existing accounting and business processes through use of automation, thoughtful analysis, and researching best practices in the industry
  • Remain current with GAAP updates and key changes
  • Complete any Ad-Hoc projects that are assigned
  • Responsible for the regional AP/T&E function.
  • Processing Fixed Assets related activities including creation & retirement of assets, depreciation and NBV.
  • Handling Inter Company transactions- Preparation of JE’s and reconciliations
  • Preparation of Bank Reconciliation Statement
  • Tax Accounts reconciliation and reporting- GST/TDS for India and Singapore

Education/experience:

  • Bachelor’s/Masters in Accounting or Finance
  • ACCA or CPA license preferred but not necessary
  • Minimum 7+ years’ experience in General Ledger/reconciliation.
  • Strong analytical skills with superior attention to detail
  • Experience with monthly close in an ERP system (NetSuite preferred)
  • High-level intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • SaaS, FinTech or Technology industry experience preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interface will all levels of an organization is required.
