Job Summary
As a Trading Application Support Analyst you will be part of our Client Services team and will be responsible for assuring high standards of technical services delivered to our customers. You will directly be part of creating and maintaining the backend and front-end services that run the technology which our clients rely on for daily operations.
This is a technical and customer-facing position that requires interaction with product, development, and QA teams to identify, troubleshoot and resolve system issues. Successful candidates will build a deep understanding of the business and technical design aspects of our solutions.
Responsibilities:
Relationship Management:
Liaise with clients directly to define and understand business and workflow requirements.
Manage client expectations and build relationships with clients.
Act as primary technical contact to allocated clients for new requirements, technical support, and project deliverables.
Support:
Provide support to FlexTrade clients globally and advise on questions and queries.
Take ownership of reported issues from start to finish.
Proactively drive issue investigation to resolution, involving other parties and escalating where needed to create appropriate solutions to immediate problems.
Provide periodic updates about investigations to the clients. Publish RCA notes upon conclusion of investigation.
Work with development & QA teams to get application defects fixed.
Occasional bank/public holiday cover and weekend work may be required. Time in lieu will be available accordingly.
Implementation and design:
Formulate the business and workflow requirements into technical solutions.
Use technical design and development skills to resolve complex problems across many different platforms. Build tools and scripts in shell scripts/python/perl/C++ to assist in maintenance and implementation of the systems.
Work alongside developers throughout the firm to design, build, test and deploy custom solutions.
On-board client and broker connections to our FIX network.
Work with teams across the firm to continually improve the product and drive future innovation.
Job requirements
2+ years’ experience working within technical application support roles.
Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent acceptable industry certification.
Technical expertise in following technologies: Linux/Unix, Shell-scripting, Python, SQL, MongoDB.
Eagerness to learn the product functionality is essential.
Good communication skills (written and oral), ability to communicate confidently and concisely to business and technical experts.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Well-organised work habits with attention to details.
Ability to work under pressure while remaining calm.
Preferred, but not required
C++ programming language knowledge would be a nice to have.
Experience directly with Front-office Trading Application related support/analyst roles.
Experience with working with FIX protocol and third-party APIs (Market data sources etc).
Concepts of Algorithmic Trading.
